To Chocolates and Sleepless Afternoon

No sleep means no rest. My brain is acting up. My tongue wants sweets. I ain’t got enough cash. So with whatever resource I have at home, and without having to invade my Mama’s kitchen space I made a microwave cake. So far it went well and found it fairly simple to make. Just need to make sure I always got the necessary stuff I need so that I won’t be using Mama’s stocks. 😀

Got the recipes from this blog Nutella Mug Cake

4 tablespoons self rising flour
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons Nutella
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

1. Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes. (Time depends on microwave wattage. Mine took 1 /2 minutes.) Top with whipped cream and a little chocolate sauce if desired.
2. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
Note: Depending on the wattage of your microwave, you may have to increase cooking time.

Salted Caramel Mug Cake

4 tablespoons all purpose flour
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt 1 egg – beaten
3 tablespoons skim milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 salted caramels

1. Into a small bowl add: flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, egg, milk, and vegetable oil. Mix to combine.
2. Pour mixture into a regular sized coffee mug. Drop caramels into center of mixture one at a time.
3. Microwave on high for one minute and 30 seconds. If needed {if cake batter is still gooey}, microwave on high for up to an additional 30 seconds.

60-Second Gooey Chocolate Mug Cake

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 scoop ice cream

In a mug, whisk together the egg, cocoa, and powdered sugar until a batter forms. Zap the mug full of batter in your microwave for 60-90 seconds (just watch it through the microwave window. It’ll puff up, and then it will start to fall. Just as it starts to fall, it should be done and delicious). Top with a scoop of ice cream. Grab a spoon. Eat. Treat. Happy Valentines Day You. And there is a whole lot of more… Now that is my own work of art…well not really art…just my own thing 🙂 10 minutes all in all including preparation. Should have just added baking powder for it to go up a bit. 🙂
